I know it has been forever since I wrote, but here I am! Friday was my last day ever student teaching. I had a great experience. I got to teach at a high school and a junior high, and I like both. The students seemed really sad, I don't know if it's really because they will miss me, or they'll miss slacking off (probably slacking off). I guess you do get attached to people that come into your life, and then when you (or they) leave it is sad because you don't know if you will ever see them again. Oh well! It's hard to say which one I would like to teach at (because honestly I will take a job wherever), they both have their pros and cons: high school for the content and the maturity level (less telling the kids to be quiet, get on task, and that sometimes guys kiss other guys in nonromantic ways), junior high has less stress (more relaxed environment) and the students are still fun and like you (sort of). I think at any level, the kids will stare at you like a "deer in the headlights" whenever you ask them a question.
The only sad thing about ending student teaching is looking for a job. Once I get hired I will probably not stress out as much! More fun to be around.
Just so you know, Christmas was fun! I got to spend it with my family. Don't worry I will change the background (probably back to pink) as soon as the website that I get my free backgrounds from is up and running again (their site was down for routine maintenance or something like that).

I think the best time to look for teaching jobs comes around March and April when they do the hiring for next year. Especially in this valley there tends to be a need because it is a core subject, and they're always opening a new school somewhere. Right now there aren't a lot of positions available, so I am looking for substitute jobs so I can familiarize myself with different schools and principals.
That's cool. How long did you credential itself take you? Like 9 months?

So exciting, now you get to be a grown up and look for that great job. I am so excited for you to get in somewhere that you love. I love the background!
I am sure the job market there is better than out here. There are talks of letting school out early and massive layouts due to the budget. Good luck.
